GAL GADOT AS WONDER WOMAN

Well my fellow dorks, I didn’t see this coming. Since I started this blog nearly a year ago, I’ve been pushing the powers that be at DC Comics and Warner Brothers to get a move on when it comes to casting Wonder Woman. I even wrote an article titled “Who Should be cast in Justice League”that looked into that and the Justice league as a whole. Word today has it that Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious franchise) has been cast as the Amazon Princess in the upcoming Zack Snyder sequel to Man of Steel, currently titled: Batman vs. Superman.

In an official statement by Zack Snyder himself, he stated: “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

While I agree with Zack on the merits of Wonder Woman. I am neither excited nor upset by this casting. I’m just cautious in my acceptance of Gal as Wonder Woman. She is a relative unknown with limited film credit. What she does have going for her however is that is has a good look and she has proven to hold her own in a male dominated film environment. This is due largely to her continuing role on the Fast and Furious film franchise.
Right or wrong. Excited or not. When filming begins on this project and we near the 2015 release date, Batman vs. Superman will be one of the most eagerly awaited films on that year or any other in recent memory. This will be for those who want to love it and for those who are waiting to hate it. Should be fun.
May the Dork be with you,
